We help families by enrolling them in our Outreach program first to determine the level of intervention needed from MountainStar. After a family starts participating in the outreach program and based on the family's needs, the outreach coordinator may help the family transition into the therapeutic classroom program. In this program, the child is matched with an interventionist (teacher + home visitor) to participate in weekly classroom sessions, home visits, parent education, and fairy god parent matching to provide needed supplies. We are a needs based program that engages with parents of highest need first to better strengthen families to keep children safe in our community. We understand Central Oregon is a child care desert and we feel for all families experiencing difficulties finding care, however it is important to note that we are not a typical childcare center. Children in MountainStar's Relief Nursery program are in our classrooms for six hours per week.
